Cumberland Building Society has poached Newcastle Building Society CCO Stuart Miller (pictured above) as its new chief executive.
Stuart’s appointment, which is subject to regulatory approval, will see him succeed Des Moore — who has been CEO for eight years — in 2026.
“I’m honoured to step into this role and am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Des during this transition,” said Stuart.
“His leadership has shaped The Cumberland’s success, and I look forward to building on that strong foundation as we move forward together.
“The Cumberland will continue to evolve, embrace new technologies, and adapt to modern challenges.
