Goodlord has launched a professional guarantor service for renters without a UK guarantor.
This Goodlord Guarantor will help these people secure tenancies, providing up to three years of cover through a single payment.
The new service is aimed at tenants such as international students, professionals moving from abroad, and those without family or friends who could act as a guarantor.
This has been launched ahead of the introduction of the Renters Rights Act which will prevent new tenants from paying more than one month’s rent in advance to secure a tenancy, which some see as having unintended consequences for renters.
Goodlord Guarantor aims to provide tenants with a fully verified option to secure their new home, while also giving landlords added security needed to continue letting.
The platform has already rolled this out in a pilot scheme in late 2025 with agencies including Aston Vaughan and MRKT Property Experts.
The service was offered to their customers to gather feedback from tenants and landlords.
After the success of the pilot, the new service is now a fully integrated element of the Goodlord Referencing platform and available to all Goodlord customers from today.
“The Renters’ Rights Act will make it harder for tenants that don’t fit the traditional mould to secure properties, whether that’s international students or those with unconventional jobs,” said Oli Sherlock, managing director of insurance at Goodlord.
“Our Goodlord Guarantor service has been designed to not only step into this gap, but also go above and beyond current market provision to give landlords additional peace of mind.
“After the success of our pilot, we’re so pleased to make this service live to all of our customers."
