Only one in six landlords say they are ‘fully prepared’ for the implementation of the Renters Rights Bill, research from Cavendish has revealed.
A survey of 1,001 landlords commissioned by the estate and letting agency found that 7% had not heard of it at all.
An additional 29% of landlords said they were aware of the bill but did not know what it meant for them, while 16% knew very little about it.
More, 32%, were confident they have a general understanding but admitted they still had questions.
Commenting on the findings, Cavendish managing director David Adams (pictured above) described the changes under the bill as some of the “biggest impacting landlords for decades.”
“While we have been supporting landlords directly and via regular webinars for some time, it is clear from our survey that the vast majority of landlords across England do not feel fully prepared for what is set to become law in a matter of weeks,” added David.
“Being fully prepared is the only way forward if landlords are serious about protecting and growing their rental portfolios.”
