Cardiff has been revealed as the most in-demand shared living market in the UK, according to COHO.
COHO has analysed Zoopla data and defined demand as measuring the total number of shared living listings against those that have already secured a tenant.
The Welsh capital was therefore found to have the highest percentage of demand, with 16.9% let.
London was the next most popular shared living market at 13.1% let.
Brighton and Bristol followed closely, each with around 12% let.
The least in-demand shared living market on the list was Leeds, with the Yorkshire city recording 2.3% let.
COHO founder and CEO Vann Vogstad said these findings were no surprise, given how expensive these markets were and forcing tenants into shared living arrangements.
He also flagged the role remote working was playing: “While it used to be a given that you could, for example, arrive in a new city to start a new job and rely on the office for forming new friendships, many people now find themselves working from home for much, if not all of the week.
“Suddenly, one of our most direct and trustworthy routes to connection and kinship has been taken away from us, making it all the more important to find those things at home.”
