Watkin Jones Group has agreed a long-term partnership with Samsung Electronics UK for multiple BTR, PBSA and residential projects, starting off with the developer’s flagship BTR scheme in Cardiff, Wales.
Following the agreement, Samsung will provide a range of technologies — including air source heat pumps and domestic appliances for refrigeration, cooking and laundry — for Watkin Jones’ multiple projects.
The technology firm will also partner with Fresh — Watkin Jones’ third-party operator of residential-for-rent properties — to offer a range of exclusive discounts and offers to residents.
The first project the two firms will collaborate on is Watkin Jones’ BTR scheme at Central Quay, Cardiff, which is part of a wider £1bn regeneration project in the Welsh capital.
As part of the contract, Samsung was awarded an exclusive supply agreement to provide technology solutions for the scheme’s 715 BTR apartments.
Mark Seaman, head of Samsung’s B2B integrated offering team, said: “This partnership demonstrates the commitment of Watkin Jones to deliver homes that are focused on creating dynamic living spaces that are future fit.
“When paired with Samsung’s innovative technologies that can drive energy efficiency and make smart living seamless, we’re able to provide the full package.
“We are particularly proud of our turnkey solutions which give our partners bespoke support from start to finish.”
Gary Denham, product development and procurement director at Watkin Jones, commented: “We are pleased to partner with Samsung to allow our projects and clients to stay at the forefront of technological advances, whether this be with energy-efficient heating and hot water generation, cooling solutions, or with high-quality smart technology appliances for residents.
“We are proud to deliver the highest quality innovative accommodation and partnering with Samsung will be of great benefit to our clients and residents as well as to Watkin Jones, both now and in the future.”
