Andy Virgo joins Birmingham Bank’s BTL team

Birmingham Bank has appointed Andy Virgo (pictured above) as its new head of intermediaries for its BTL division.

The industry expert brings several years of BTL finance experience to the role, gained from his previous roles at various specialist lenders, including LendInvest.

Birmingham Bank launched its BTL pilot in November 2023 — the bank caters for professional landlords mortgaging standard BTL flats and houses, as well as small HMOs and MUFBs.

The lender currently provides BTL loans of up to £1m for single properties and maximum £2m on multiple properties, available at 75% LTV to landlords in England, Scotland and Wales.

In addition to securing individual loans, Birmingham Bank also allows clients to add multiple properties to a single portfolio loan and mix property types if desired, thus enabling landlords to manage their portfolio via a single loan and direct debit.

Commenting on his appointment, Andy said: “To have the opportunity to help build a strong lending proposition for the bank was key, and we have set about creating products and processes fit for the specialist lending market.”

“Funded by our savings platform, we aim to deliver competitively priced innovative lending solutions to landlords in England, Scotland and Wales.”
